About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Connect with patients, explain procedures, and put them at ease
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction
- Interpret physician orders/instructions and select appropriate software options and imaging parameters
- Produce high-quality PET/CT images and studies
- Pre-screen patients for contraindications
- Perform aseptic injection techniques
- Follow radiation safety regulations and properly document work with radioactive materials and patients
- Communicate effectively with customers and/or radiologists
- Train new technologists and/or PC's
- Troubleshoot the scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment including monitors, PACS, and coils
- Deliver imaging care across freestanding outpatient centers, mobile coaches, and hospital-based/inpatient facilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N)
- State license, as required
- CPR certification
- As applicable, valid state driver’s license
- Ability to work at several locations
- Strong customer service skills
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs
- Preferred: Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience
- Preferred: 1-2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies
