About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work in all zones of the Adult and Pediatric Emergency Departments and the Observation Unit
  • Manage patients of all ages, including conducting exams, generating care plans, and reviewing test results for disposition
  • Collaborate with attending physicians and other healthcare providers to provide high-quality patient care and efficient throughput
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
  • Perform basic procedures such as laceration repair and incision and drainage
  • Perform additional procedures including lumbar punctures, airway skills, and thoracentesis

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • License and active registration as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York State
  • Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Familiarity working with electronic medical records; Epic experience preferred
  • Significant Emergency Medicine experience
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across various departments
  • Ability to maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required
  • Basic Life Support certification required
  • Ability to perform essential clinical functions, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching
  • Sufficient visual, auditory, and manual dexterity to assess patients, provide direct patient care, operate medical equipment, and complete documentation
  • Minimum monthly shift commitment required
