About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and maintain the enterprise cloud and security architecture vision, principles, standards, and target state
  • Translate complex architectural, technology, cloud, and security considerations into executive options, trade-offs, and recommendations
  • Develop and evolve enterprise reference architectures and approved patterns for cloud platforms, identity, access, networking, security, hybrid cloud, resilience, observability, and compliance
  • Establish architectural guardrails for secure and responsible use of cloud services
  • Provide architectural leadership across on-premises environments, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and integrated enterprise systems
  • Guide portfolio and solution architects on major cloud and security architecture decisions
  • Review significant programs, platforms, and investments for alignment with enterprise standards and target-state architecture
  • Partner with cloud, cybersecurity, privacy, legal, risk, infrastructure, and operations leaders
  • Assess current-state capabilities, identify fragmentation and technical debt, and recommend improvement priorities
  • Support enterprise roadmaps and strategies for cloud platforms, cybersecurity, integration, resilience, observability, and modernization
  • Identify enterprise-level risks and opportunities and advise leadership
  • Provide architecture oversight and governance for major cloud- and security-related initiatives and investments
  • Influence technology and platform investment decisions through an enterprise architecture lens

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, cloud architecture, security architecture, infrastructure architecture, or related senior technology roles
  • Demonstrated experience defining enterprise-scale cloud and/or security architecture in complex organizations
  • Relevant advanced certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect, ISC2 CISSP or CCSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or AWS Certified Security
  • Experience establishing architecture standards, reference patterns, and roadmaps
  • Strong understanding of cloud and security capabilities, digital platforms, modernization, resilience, and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to work across multiple portfolios, business units, and delivery teams
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills with technical and executive stakeholders
  • Criminal record check satisfactory to Alberta Blue Cross required as a condition of employment
