About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership, solution design, development, operational support, and consultation for business-critical identity, authentication, authorization, security, and access management solutions
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, project resources, and leadership on the reliability, security, and evolution of Identity Solutions
- Provide senior technical leadership and Identity domain expertise for Identity & Access Management services and related technologies
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and project teams to guide solution design, support technology roadmaps, and align with enterprise standards and business priorities
- Evaluate requirements, identify risks, and recommend effective solutions
- Design, implement, enhance, and support identity and access management solutions
- Mentor and support team members through knowledge sharing, technical guidance, and collaborative problem solving
- Lead analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of enterprise identity solutions
- Support BAU operations, sustainment activities, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead troubleshooting for complex production issues and major incidents
- Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
- Support project delivery, business enhancements, modernization initiatives, and strategic technology investments
- Support authentication, authorization, RBAC, and identity governance processes
- Participate in vulnerability assessments, audits, access reviews, and security investigations
- Assess technical, operational, and security risks and provide recommendations
- Support compliance with organizational security, privacy, and technology standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 5-10 years of progressive Information Technology experience involving enterprise application design, development, implementation, and support
- Senior-level experience with Java and/or PL/SQL development required; preference given to Java development experience
- Extensive experience in identity, authentication, authorization, and access management technologies and practices
- Strong understanding of identity federation, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and Identity Governance
- Significant experience supporting Oracle Identity technologies including Oracle Internet Directory (OID), Oracle Access Manager (OAM), and Oracle Advanced Authentication (OAA)
- Experience supporting business-critical production systems and participating in incident response activities
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives and provide consultation to business and technical stakeholders
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Commitment to collaboration, continuous learning, and exceptional customer service
- Criminal record check satisfactory to Alberta Blue Cross required as a condition of employment
