About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close process ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations and financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with Mexican NIF and support IFRS and CNBV reporting requirements
  • Coordinate external and internal audits and prepare audit support
  • Lead the accounting integration of the newly acquired SOFIPO
  • Standardize accounting policies, procedures and chart of accounts across the Group
  • Strengthen internal controls and identify process automation opportunities
  • Partner with Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Operations and Product teams on strategic initiatives
  • Act as the accounting subject matter expert and mentor junior team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)
  • 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience within Banking, Fintech, SOFIPO, IFPE or another regulated financial institution
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican NIF, IFRS and CNBV regulatory reporting
  • Proven experience leading financial close, audits, internal controls and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel and ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics or similar)
  • Experience supporting M&A, post-merger integration or finance transformation projects is a strong plus
