About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead albo's Accounting and FP&A teams, reporting directly to the CFO
Own the accuracy and integrity of group financial results, regulatory reporting and internal controls
Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close, delivering monthly close by D+10
Review balance sheet, P&L and cash flow reporting and resolve material reconciliation issues
Ensure financial statements comply with Mexican NIF, CNBV accounting criteria and consolidated IFRS reporting requirements
Oversee reconciliations across operational systems, banks and the ledger, including payment settlements and loan portfolios
Review lending accounting, including interest, fees, IFRS 9 expected credit losses, write-offs and recoveries
Oversee financial regulatory reporting to CNBV and Banco de México
Oversee SAT filings, tax reconciliations, payments and supporting documentation
Coordinate transfer pricing and cross-border tax matters with specialist advisers
Lead external audit coordination across Mexico and the UK
Review group consolidation, intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation
Coordinate UK statutory accounts and filings
Oversee annual budget and rolling forecasts and review variance analysis
Assess profitability and unit economics by product and segment
Support the CFO with financial models, board reporting, investor materials and lender information
Review liquidity forecasts and monitor financial covenants with Treasury
Strengthen controls, close processes and reporting through NetSuite, automation and continuous improvement
Advise teams on accounting, tax and financial matters for new products, partnerships and funding arrangements

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of experience in Accounting, Controlling or Finance
Direct responsibility for overseeing budgets, forecasts and financial analysis
Experience leading and developing accounting and FP&A teams
Experience with CNBV accounting criteria and financial regulatory reporting in a regulated Mexican financial institution
Strong IFRS knowledge and experience with group consolidation and intercompany accounting
Experience delivering financial closes, external audits and regulatory reporting on time
Experience with NetSuite (Oracle) or a comparable ERP
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including profitability analysis, operational drivers and cash flow forecasting
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Fluent professional English, written and spoken
Ability to lead technical accounting and financial discussions with international auditors, investors and lenders
Experience with IFPEs, payments or lending is a plus
Coordination of UK audits or statutory accounts is a plus
Recent ERP implementation experience for groups with multiple legal entities is a plus
CPC certification is a plus
Experience in fintech or high-growth companies is a plus
Ability to communicate internally and externally and work cross-functionally
