About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement of aluminum scrap across Europe
  • Support secondary material processing activities
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for aluminum scrap and secondary materials
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, processors, brokers, and internal stakeholders
  • Analyze scrap market trends, pricing mechanisms, supply dynamics, and business data
  • Provide actionable market intelligence and support data-driven decision making
  • Lead supplier qualification, contract management, responsible sourcing compliance, traceability, and operational execution
  • Collaborate with commercial, operational, technical, logistics, quality, finance, and EHS functions
  • Optimize inventory and manage supplier performance
  • Resolve claims and mitigate supply risks to ensure continuity of supply
  • Maximize recovery value from scrap and secondary materials
  • Use Microsoft 365 and business systems to monitor performance and drive sustainable results
  • Report to the Vice President, Value-Added Product Sales, Europe
  • Travel regularly across Europe to suppliers, processing partners, operational sites, and industry events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience in aluminum scrap procurement, recycling, commodity sourcing, or industrial raw material purchasing
  • Strong understanding of the European supplier landscape and market dynamics
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success in contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, and identifying opportunities to optimize value and profitability
  • Solid knowledge of aluminum alloys, scrap qualities, recycling value chains, and secondary material recovery processes
  • Understanding of logistics, supply chain operations, inventory management, quality specifications, and claims resolution within complex industrial environments
  • Ability to interpret market intelligence, pricing mechanisms, LME-linked structures, scrap spreads, and risk management principles
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Professional written and verbal proficiency in English required
  • Norwegian strongly valued
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50%
