About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take ownership of a defined group of commodities
- Develop sourcing strategies supporting business and technical objectives
- Work closely with engineering and suppliers
- Deliver cost reductions
- Support new product development
- Run sourcing and tender activities
- Negotiate commercial agreements
- Manage supplier performance, risk and relationships

Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong technical understanding
- Practical procurement or commodity-management experience
- Experience ideally gained within transport, vehicles or heavy machinery
- Confidence in sourcing
- Commercial negotiation skills
- Supplier management skills
- Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills
- Organised and commercially aware
- Comfortable working across teams to deliver agreed targets
- More than three years’ relevant experience preferred
- Engineering degree at BSc level or above preferred
- CIPS or other relevant purchasing, supply or business qualification preferred
- Knowledge or experience of CAD systems preferred
