About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and develop modern solutions for managing, processing, and integrating geospatial data
- Design data architectures and data models for complex GIS, 3D, and infrastructure data
- Develop and optimize data integration and transformation processes using ArcGIS and FME
- Advise customers on selecting and advancing suitable GIS, database, and system architectures
- Analyze requirements and translate them into technical target architectures, interfaces, and solution concepts
- Support proof-of-concepts and technical validations, and transition solutions into production
- Facilitate workshops and communicate technical concepts effectively to customers and stakeholders
- Take on subject-matter responsibility in projects and actively contribute expertise to the engineering community
Requirements
What you’ll need- Successfully completed degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Data Engineering, Geodesy, or a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience in data engineering, GIS, geospatial data management, or a comparable technical environment
- Excellent knowledge of Esri ArcGIS, ideally ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise
- Practical experience with FME for transforming, integrating, and processing geospatial data
- Excellent knowledge of relational and spatial databases, particularly PostgreSQL/PostGIS
- Solid knowledge of geospatial data models, georeferencing, coordinate systems, and spatial data processing workflows
- Good to very good knowledge of Python
- Experience with 3D geospatial data and, ideally, BIM, CAD, and GIS integrations
- Experience in technical consulting, system design, and workshop facilitation
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure
- Excellent communication skills in German and English
- Willingness to travel as part of consulting engagements
- Ideally, certification in the Esri or FME ecosystem, such as ArcGIS Enterprise Administration Professional or FME Certified Professional
