About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee network and server administration, including firewalls, routers, switches, network protocols, and server maintenance
- Maintain secure servers, applications, databases, and local and cloud backups
- Design and implement new network solutions and improve existing network efficiency
- Install, configure, and support routers, access and core switches, servers, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
- Maintain firewalls, routing, and switching for network efficiency and security
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, conduct penetration testing, and investigate outages
- Schedule upgrades and maintain file servers, VPN gateways, and intrusion detection systems
- Install and maintain security updates in compliance with industry best practices
- Create network operations reports and maintain network configuration documentation
- Administer Windows servers, including system and application software and patches
- Support SAN, NAS, and virtual server infrastructure
- Administer Azure, on-premises Active Directory, and Office 365 systems
- Monitor CPU usage, disk usage, response times, and other system resources
- Install, configure, and maintain server security software such as antivirus programs
- Secure networks through firewalls, password protection, and other controls
- Inspect hardware for vulnerable access points
- Automate systems administration tasks where possible
- Maintain server and infrastructure documentation and logs
- Maintain corporate backup systems for all servers
- Keep current with information technology security trends
- Provide helpdesk support and mentor helpdesk staff
- Treat employees fairly and respectfully
- Report to the Director of Corporate IT
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Corporate IT
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience maintaining a Windows 2022 server environment
- Advanced knowledge of computer systems
- Advanced knowledge of Azure AD and on-premises AD environments
- Advanced knowledge of ESX virtual environments
- Advanced knowledge of Fortinet firewall environments
- Advanced knowledge of SD-WAN
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and routing protocols
- Advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN topologies
- Strong Veeam backup software experience
- Proven experience as a computer security specialist
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and risk management methodologies
- BSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
- Cisco CCIE certifications are a plus
- Ability to work varying hours from 8am–5pm, Monday through Friday
