About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide administrative and clerical support and project coordination within the quality management department
  • Collect data related to quality management initiatives
  • Conduct provider outreach to ensure regulatory-required compliance
  • Coordinate and conduct activities with providers, external vendors, and internal departments
  • Aggregate data and perform initial analysis of assigned project results
  • Produce charts, graphs, and reports demonstrating results and outcomes
  • Maintain up-to-date databases and tracking logs
  • Request medical records for quality review activities
  • Conduct phone and fax follow-up; troubleshoot, investigate, and follow up on missing information
  • Collaborate with clinical staff on patient safety issues
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1+ year of experience in a medical office, health plan or hospital environment performing clerical supportive duties
  • Managed care experience
  • 2+ years’ professional experience with MS Office Suite—Word, Outlook, Excel, Access
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months+ related experience and/or training
  • Ability to communicate positively, professionally and effectively with others; provide leadership, teach and collaborate with others
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to establish and maintain constructive relationships with diverse members, management, employees and vendors
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and calculate simple statistics correctly
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks; advanced problem-solving; ability to use advanced reasoning to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and design, implement and manage appropriate resolution
  • Effective problem-solving, organizational and time-management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze statistical reports
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA
  • Ability to meet the stated essential physical functions, including standing, walking, sitting, hand and finger use, reaching, talking, hearing, and frequently lifting or moving up to 10 pounds
  • Associate degree preferred
