About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Allegro's global Field Applications Engineering organization
  • Create and implement an operating strategy aligned with corporate goals, regional sales strategies, and customer success initiatives
  • Establish technical-excellence vision for automotive and industrial semiconductor markets
  • Deploy technical resources efficiently across high-priority global accounts
  • Build, train, and develop a high-performing, globally distributed FAE team
  • Foster continuous learning and mentorship
  • Partner with regional sales leadership on account management and growth plans
  • Identify and develop regional technical leaders and build succession-planning bench strength
  • Coordinate technical resource allocation and expertise sharing across regions
  • Partner with Product Business Unit leadership to align FAE strategy with product roadmaps, go-to-market plans, and revenue forecasts
  • Lead technical training for sales teams, channel partners, and customers
  • Connect field technical expertise with corporate technical strategy and product development
  • Drive technical solutions, maximize customer design wins, accelerate socket identification, and support revenue growth

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in pre- and post-sales Field Applications Engineering
  • Minimum 7+ years of hands-on leadership experience building, developing, and managing large, globally distributed technical teams
  • Demonstrated semiconductor industry experience
  • Proven experience managing technical teams across multiple regions and cultures with different business practices and customer requirements
  • Track record of identifying, developing, and closing design-win and design-in opportunities in automotive, industrial, or similar high-reliability markets
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders, including C-suite and Board, and drive alignment across functional groups and regions
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for engineers, business leaders, customers, and analysts
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Data-driven decision-making experience, including sales funnel analysis, technical performance reporting, and business intelligence
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment focused on execution and results
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally, including quarterly visits to Europe, Japan, and Korea
  • 20–30% travel availability
  • Proactive mindset and ability to anticipate customer needs and market changes
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred
  • Previous experience at a semiconductor company with automotive/industrial focus preferred
  • Executive presence and C-suite influence track record preferred
  • Experience with SAP, Salesforce, or other enterprise systems preferred
  • Eligible applicants must reside in a state where Allegro currently has an office location: New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Texas, or Michigan
