About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute all advanced pricing and analysis requests
Lead the development and management of assigned underwriting and analyst teams
Provide expertise in underwriting, including special pricing and marketing projects
Meet with Producers, clients, Underwriters, and Account Executives to define and accomplish projects
Manage workload distribution for teams of Underwriters and Analysts
Assist in determining strategic goals, resource planning, education/training needs, policy development, and business growth
Identify, coordinate, and manage external business partner relationships, including insurance carriers, external consultants, third-party administrators, and vendors
Analyze actuarial plan values using relevant software for pricing and analysis projects
Modify and customize underwriting models and reporting templates to meet customer needs
Lead and manage client underwriting projects and present analyses to clients
Assist Producers with prospecting activities, written RFP responses, finalist presentations, and follow-up
Maintain data tracking and reporting for financial management, underwriting models, client reports, and analytical deliverables
Use carrier data and reporting systems to obtain claim data for reporting and analysis
Analyze and challenge insurance company renewal calculations for fully-insured contracts
Engage in educational opportunities regarding underwriting knowledge, market trends, and regulatory environment
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of work and meet established deadlines
Address incoming correspondence and respond in a timely manner
Lead training development and execution on underwriting and analysis topics
Maintain complete and accurate agency management system data
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree equivalent combination of education and experience
Five (5) or more years related work experience
One (1) or more years of management experience in leading a team of at least 3 individuals
Valid Insurance License
Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving and time management skills
Good customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills
Excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills
Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork
Ability to completely manage mid-level and large projects as well as effectively manage and lead assigned teams to complete goals
Ability to work productively as an individual to accomplish assigned projects
Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Advanced MS Excel skills required
