About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee and support Allina Medical Equipment Council subgroups for Surgery and General Medical
- Provide strategic guidance, mentorship, and subject matter expertise to subgroup leaders and members
- Serve as primary partner for equipment service contracting, equipment rentals, equipment placement agreements, and capital-related service agreements
- Support enterprise-level sourcing and contracting functions
- Lead the contract lifecycle process
- Work with clinical and administrative leadership across system sites
- Lead or participate in cross-functional, multi-site decision teams from requirements definition through contract award
- Review historical trend and expense data to identify cost-reduction opportunities
- Investigate options and market dynamics; define sourcing strategies
- Develop requests for proposals, evaluate and analyze bids, prepare negotiation plans, and negotiate contracts
- Document the basis for contract awards and coordinate vendor support for implementation
- Monitor supplier performance and compile site-specific and provider-specific usage and cost analyses
- Summarize and present financial and non-financial factors to guide contracting decisions
- Build relationships with leaders, staff, and vendors to minimize expenditures and ensure quality and service levels
- Deliver financial savings through contract rebids, extensions, conversions, or customizations
- Support conversions, implementations, and product trials
- Coordinate vendor-managed inventories and assist site materials teams with inventory requirements
- Analyze contract requirements and special provisions; work with legal to ensure compliance
- Monitor contract performance and proactively identify changes to mitigate risk
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 to 5 years of experience in finance, sourcing, project management, contracting or other related field
- Bachelor's degree in business, health care or related field required in lieu of experience
- Ability to work 8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
- Ability to attend onsite meetings at Allina Commons as needed
- Ability to travel between Allina Hospitals as needed
- Sedentary physical demands: lifting up to 10 lbs. occasionally and negligible weight frequently
