About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete comprehensive patient assessments
- Determine diagnosis and treatment of illness
- Order and interpret medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician
- Prescribe medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment
- Conduct patient education for chronic illness management or wellness care
- Perform rounding and operating room work
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care
- Participate in weekend rotation, approximately one weekend per month
- Participate in OR call
- Collaborate with attending physicians and care teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program required
- At least one year of experience post Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant training preferred
- Cardiology experience preferred
- Certification as a Physician Assistant - NCCPA - National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required or Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) - American Nurse Credentialing Center or (AANP) American Association for Nurse Practitioners required upon hire
- Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire (NP candidates)
- Active MN NP/PA license (or ability to obtain)
- BLS certification required within 180 days of hire
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing and hospital privileges
- Ability to lift up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently
