About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete comprehensive patient assessments
- Consult with physicians when patient needs fall outside Nurse Practitioner scope of practice or diagnosis/treatment plan is unclear
- Participate in the health care team
- Promote communication within the team and interdisciplinary health care staff
- Act as a resource to team members
- Provide rounding-only cardiac surgery care at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and United Hospital
- Work in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Participate in weekend rotation, approximately one weekend per month
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree - Completion of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
- Experience in Critical Care required
- Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
- Active MN NP/PA license (or ability to obtain)
- BLS certification required within 180 days of hire
- Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing and hospital privileges
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Ability to lift up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently
