About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families
- Plan, coordinate and evaluate patient care needs
- Participate in and support program development, nursing research, staff development and quality initiatives
- Coordinate care along a defined care pathway when applicable
- Assess patient and family needs and establish, supervise and modify plans of care
- Maintain education and competencies for high-quality patient care
- Incorporate evidence-based nursing practice and applicable statutes, rules and regulations
- Establish realistic, measurable and age- and culturally appropriate patient outcomes collaboratively with patients and families
- Coordinate, collaborate and delegate to ensure safe, effective care
- Serve as Charge Nurse when assigned, coordinating and directing unit operations
- Serve as Preceptor when assigned, planning learning experiences and validating orientee competence
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's or Vocational degree, or Bachelor's degree, according to applicant status, hospital location and specialty area
- 2 to 5 years RN experience in clinical area relevant to position
- Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required if working in state of MN upon hire
- Licensed Registered Nurse - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required upon hire if working as an RN in Wisconsin
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire
- In certain departments, current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or ALS certification from the American Red Cross, or Allina in-house ACLS training within 60 days
- RN-C in department specialty preferred
- Valid Driver’s License required upon hire for certain MHI Pacer Department roles
- Ability to lift up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently
- Must fulfill all organizational requirements
