About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead on Retail profitability and Scratchcard performance, providing recommendations for change and optimisation
- Act as business partner to the Retail and Product Directors and their direct reports
- Serve as Finance Lead supporting the Retail Channels and Scratchcard Product teams
- Lead Scratchcard strategy, business cases, modelling and post-investment reviews
- Lead Retail benefit cases, including business case development and post-investment reviews
- Develop reporting and governance frameworks supporting strategic initiatives across Retail and Scratchcards
- Lead consolidation of benefits tracking for business initiatives identified through P&L optimisation
- Conduct analysis and measurement to influence decisions and recommend focus and improvement areas
- Analyse pricepoint optimisation, product mix recommendations and retailer-specific trends
- Understand significant cost lines and challenge investment proposals where required
- Provide input on new Retail and Scratchcard initiatives into the planning process
- Support the Head of Finance with ad hoc commercial requests
- Work with analytical teams to develop benefit-tracking measurements and robust assumptions for commercial cases
- Upskill the business on commercial drivers of profitability by channel and work with senior leadership to drive change
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
- Previous experience in Commercial Finance and partnering with senior stakeholders
- Ability to lead cross-functional workstreams and influence outcomes
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to articulate financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Commercial awareness and ability to apply it to decision-making and recommendations
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Ability to translate financial modelling into actions and insight
- Previous experience driving improvements to underlying profitability
- Self-starter with keen attention to detail and independent thinking
