About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the strategy, customer plan and commercial performance for designated major retailers across the Asda, Morrisons and Morrisons Daily portfolio
  • Create and deliver Joint Business Plans aligned with each retailer’s strategy and growth agenda
  • Lead senior commercial negotiations and secure customer commitment to growth plans
  • Analyse commercial, operational and shopper performance to identify opportunities and address risks
  • Own the portfolio forecast and retailer investment plan, including trade marketing and capital expenditure
  • Identify and commercialise opportunities across retail, e-commerce, Scratchcards, product placement, activation and new technology initiatives
  • Build influential relationships from buyer to director level across retailer functions
  • Lead deployment of Allwyn’s transformation and new licence priorities across the portfolio
  • Create retailer and store communication plans improving availability, compliance, product execution and colleague engagement
  • Lead strategically important trials and projects through implementation and evaluation
  • Deliver Responsible Play priorities, including player protection, age controls and healthy play principles
  • Line manage a National Account Manager and a National Account Executive
  • Coach the team and develop commercial judgement, retailer insight and negotiation capability
  • Create an inclusive, high-support and high-accountability team environment
  • Lead through others, delegate effectively and build succession strength
  • Act as a thought leader for Retail Channels on retail, competitors, technology, shopper behaviour and emerging commercial models
  • Partner with the Retail Sales Controller and peers to shape channel strategy and prioritise resources
  • Represent the portfolio in leadership forums and escalate material opportunities or risks
  • Deputise for the Retail Sales Controller where required
  • Contribute to wider strategic retail projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant experience leading major multiple retail accounts with high turnover and complexity, from strategy and business planning through to execution and performance delivery
  • Strong record of delivering commercial growth through Joint Business Planning, senior negotiation, insight-led selling and disciplined account management
  • Direct line management experience of National Account Managers and/or National Account Executives, with evidence of coaching people to higher performance
  • Proven ability to build and influence customer relationships at director level across multiple functions
  • Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, investment management and performance analysis
  • Ability to turn data into clear commercial recommendations
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional projects, customer trials and third-party delivery with significant budgets and multiple dependencies
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Confidence communicating to senior internal and external audiences
  • Proficiency in relevant office, collaboration and reporting tools
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel across the Asda, Morrisons and Morrisons Daily portfolio and wider UK as required
