About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and enhance operational reporting and analytics for AML teams
- Identify and drive improvements to AML data sourcing, consumption, transformation, and processing
- Partner with AML stakeholders and Technology teams to define business and data requirements
- Establish acceptance criteria and coordinate user acceptance testing for data and system enhancements
- Develop and execute data migration test plans
- Reconcile source and target data and validate transformation logic and downstream outputs
- Track defects through resolution
- Investigate data discrepancies and assess operational and model impacts
- Identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions with business and Technology partners
- Develop and maintain runbooks, procedures, data dictionaries, requirements, and testing documentation
- Support data governance activities, including documenting data sources and lineage and resolving data gaps
- Ensure operations comply with regulatory and legal requirements and organizational policy
- Maintain current knowledge of money laundering and terrorist financing issues, regulations, typologies, and trends
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years in banking/finance industry or data analytics, including demonstrated experience independently delivering complex analytics or data improvement initiatives
- Advanced SQL skills and strong working knowledge of databases and stored procedures
- Experience with data migration testing, source-to-target reconciliation, data validation, and documenting and resolving defects
- Experience with Jira and ability to work in an Agile environment to formulate technical stories for data engineering teams
- Experience analyzing large, complex datasets and translating operational needs into practical data solutions
- Advanced skill in PowerBI, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
- Experience with online research systems
- Ability to build effective cross-functional relationships across AML, Technology, and business teams
- Familiarity with ETL processes, data pipelines, and source-to-target mappings preferred
- Working knowledge of SAS, Python, or R preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to independently manage competing priorities, take ownership of deliverables, and escalate issues with clear recommendations
- Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related major or equivalent
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience
