About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead executive search engagements with AlphaGov and client leadership
- Lead search kickoff meetings and clarify position requirements, priorities, and timelines
- Develop search strategies and candidate profiles
- Identify, approach, and assess executive and senior leadership candidates
- Conduct structured interviews and prepare candidate recommendations
- Advise hiring managers, executives, boards, or selection committees
- Coordinate candidate presentations, interviews, and client feedback
- Support reference checks, offer discussions, and placement follow-through
- Maintain accurate search records and communicate progress, challenges, and next steps
- Coordinate with recruiting and research support when assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience conducting executive or senior leadership searches
- Ability to manage a search from initial planning through candidate selection
- Strong candidate assessment, client communication, and project management skills
- Confidence engaging senior professionals and handling confidential information
- Ability to explain your contribution to successful searches
- Government agency, municipality, public utility, higher education, or other public-sector search experience preferred but not required
- Experience working with boards, hiring committees, or multiple decision-makers preferred
- Retained search or search consulting experience preferred
- Experience recruiting department heads, chief executives, or other senior organizational leaders preferred
- Independent search consultants, search firm professionals, and experienced in-house recruiting leaders are welcome
