About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support grant-management assessments, policy updates, and post-award administration design
- Review how an agency tracks applications, awards, drawdowns, reporting, and closeout
- Identify control gaps in allowability, matching, subrecipient monitoring, and documentation
- Draft procedures and roles grants and finance staff can follow
- Advise on system fields and reports an agency needs without implementing every system
- Contribute grants qualifications and past-performance narrative to proposals only when naming is authorized
- Distinguish federal, state, and local grant rules actually applied
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience managing or advising post-award grants administration for a public agency or pass-through entity
- Working knowledge of allowability, matching, reporting, and subrecipient monitoring
- At least two grant programs or agencies you can describe, including your role
- Ability to write procedures a grants office can use
- Comfortable as a 1099 project-based collaborator, with occasional client travel
- Uniform Guidance experience on federal pass-through funds (nice to have)
- Experience with a grants management system used by a city, county, state, or school system (nice to have)
