About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct external quality assessments against IIA Global Internal Audit Standards and GAGAS where applicable
  • Review audit charters, methodology, workpapers, and QAIP
  • Interview stakeholders and benchmark practices
  • Issue the conformance opinion and recommendations
  • Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when authorized to be named
  • Work on current-state engagements for a state court system's division of internal audit
  • Confirm scope, schedule, and fee before each engagement begins

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in internal audit, including leading or serving on external quality assessments
  • CIA certification
  • Comfortable as a 1099 project-based consultant
  • IIA QA certification / QAR training (nice to have)
  • Government or judiciary audit experience (nice to have)
  • CPA or CGAP (nice to have)
