About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan and run a defined public-sector consulting workstream from kickoff through delivery
- Keep scope, schedule, agency reviewers, and work products aligned
- Turn agency interviews and source documents into a draft the agency can review
- Track decisions, open items, and the evidence behind each recommendation
- Coordinate specialist contributors without presenting their work as your own
- Contribute a staffing approach and past-performance narrative to proposals only when naming is authorized
- Surface schedule or access problems early enough to change the plan
- Work on agency studies, implementations, and related consulting engagements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience managing a public-sector study, system implementation, or multi-workstream consulting engagement through delivery
- A record of written deliverables an agency actually received, not only meeting facilitation
- Comfort coordinating subject-matter specialists and agency staff
- Able to describe the agency, your role, and the outcome of at least two engagements
- Comfortable as a 1099 project-based collaborator, with occasional client travel
- Nice to have: Work with cities, counties, school systems, utilities, or special districts
- Nice to have: Experience on classification, compensation, organizational, ERP, or grants engagements
