About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess cold-weather operating and storage requirements, snow/ice effects, and self-draining concepts
- Evaluate heater and pump alternatives, thermal performance, duty cycles, isolation needs, and failure modes
- Coordinate thermal analysis with CFD, mechanical, electrical, materials, and validation teams
- Define thermal verification methods and review empirical test results supplied by the customer or vendor
- Develop recommendations balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, and revalidation impact
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of thermal systems, thermal analysis, HVAC, energy systems, battery systems, or fluid-system engineering experience
- Strong fundamentals in thermal requirements, heat transfer, cold-weather design, freeze protection, heaters, pumps, insulation, and thermal interfaces
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and test correlation
- Steady-state and transient thermal analysis using hand calculations, 1D models, or 3D tools as appropriate
- Experience with heaters, pumps, cold-weather performance, or temperature-controlled products preferred
- English level B2–C1
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration
- Technical leadership and decision-making capability
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Time management and ability to operate under tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong documentation discipline
