About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze existing data landscapes, data flows, and scientific data sources in the life sciences sector
- Develop enterprise-wide data models for laboratory, research, and operational data, as well as central Data Products
- Establish semantic data models, metadata standards, and data classifications
- Introduce and advance FAIR Data Principles and scientific data standards
- Design modern Data Platforms based on Snowflake and AWS
- Develop cross-domain data architectures
- Collaborate with laboratories, R&D, IT, and Data Science teams
- Support analytics, AI, and Data Science applications through harmonized data structures
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or a comparable field
- At least eight years of professional experience in Data Architecture, Data Modeling, or Enterprise Data Management
- Experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, diagnostics, medical technology, or a scientific research environment
- Strong knowledge of modern data architectures, data platforms, and data modeling
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, AWS, and SQL
- Knowledge of Data Mesh, Data Products, Metadata Management, Data Governance, and FAIR Data Principles
- Ideally, experience in Scientific Informatics, Laboratory Informatics, semantic layers, ontologies, or the Allotrope Framework
