About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver design and construction supervision assignments for drinking water, wastewater and stormwater networks
  • Complete the network design phases: DIAG (diagnostic assessment), EP (preliminary studies), AVP (preliminary design) and PRO (detailed design)
  • Carry out and monitor related and supplementary studies
  • Manage tendering and bid analysis phases: ACT (assistance with contract award)
  • Manage construction supervision phases: VISA (review and approval of contractor documents), DET (direction of contract execution), OPC (scheduling, coordination and supervision) and AOR (assistance with project acceptance)
  • Contribute to technical studies in urban water engineering, particularly diagnostics and master plans for drinking water and wastewater systems
  • Monitor and manage construction execution
  • Supervise and lead construction activities
  • Accept completed works and manage project closeout
  • Participate in business development meetings and lead meetings
  • Contribute to tender responses and pre-sales activities
  • Supervise the design and construction supervision team
  • Monitor projects with regard to contractual and financial commitments
  • Manage relationships with contractors
  • Work under the supervision of the Branch Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 5 years of experience in urban water engineering, in a design and construction supervision role for utility networks
  • Knowledge of pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants is an additional asset
  • Engineering degree or Master's degree with a specialization in civil engineering
  • Demonstrated expertise in concrete and masonry pathology, soil mechanics, strength of materials and civil engineering
  • Proficiency in office software, particularly Excel
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential
