About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support technical and maintenance team resources across multiple sites
  • Enable growth, retain business, and eliminate losses by building maintenance and technical capability
  • Continuously improve and deliver operator and maintenance training on production equipment
  • Ensure effective operation of blow molding equipment, including Uniloy, Bekum, Rocheleau, and other systems
  • Coach, develop, and support maintenance teams in plants to achieve sustainable results
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, PPE use, and environmental regulations
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment
  • Provide hands-on training and capability building one-to-one or in small groups on the production floor
  • Troubleshoot machinery issues and drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes
  • Execute hands-on troubleshooting and equipment maintenance at sites
  • Facilitate training for operators and maintenance personnel on troubleshooting and equipment maintenance
  • Assist with maintenance budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Build vendor and supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and secure favorable terms
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Develop emergency response plans and coordinate resolution of critical equipment incidents
  • Maintain work orders, equipment histories, inspection reports, and other maintenance documentation
  • Generate regular reports for management review

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Frequent travel (up to 100%) to designated locations across the region
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods, move around the production floor, and handle equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • 6 to 10 years’ experience in a high-output plastics manufacturing environment with in-depth knowledge of hydraulic electrical equipment
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience working in the maintenance field
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to assess situations and make appropriate decisions
  • Ability to analyze team members' skills, recognize strengths and areas for development
  • Professionalism and dedication to excellence in customer care
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience preferred
  • Basic Microsoft office skills highly desired
  • Accounting or experience with budgets
  • Experience leading cross functional teams
  • Self-directed and detail oriented
  • Ability to create, lead and work in a team atmosphere
  • Ability to drive and influence positive change
  • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs
