About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with sales staff to promote the sale of Amada stamping equipment within an assigned territory
  • Provide technical support to Amada Sales Engineers, Regional Managers, Product Managers, and others
  • Assist Sales Engineers throughout all phases of sales activities
  • Provide training to new Sales Engineers
  • Provide technical information to Sales Engineers and Product Managers
  • Maintain written activity reports and communicate them to the Product Manager
  • Prepare advance planning reports, including semester goals and strategies
  • Maintain regular contact and follow-up with Sales Engineers and customers
  • Visit customers with Amada sales representatives and dealers to identify equipment needs and develop stamping opportunities
  • Qualify applications by gathering part, material, production, process, output, tooling, budget, and timing information
  • Explain press and feed equipment options
  • Develop preliminary recommendations and involve the Product Manager or applications team for further technical review
  • Coordinate input from tooling suppliers, automation, and internal teams
  • Assemble quotation requests and support technical proposals, equipment scope, and customer questions
  • Support onsite equipment demonstrations, customer presentations, trade shows, and practical training
  • Own assigned follow-up actions and maintain clear CRM records, customer commitments, and next steps
  • Prepare special reports and assist with company or department projects as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineering degree or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Amada stamping products
  • Experience in the sales process as it relates to the sheet metal industry
  • Practical stamping knowledge, including press capacity and dimensions, basic die concepts, coil feeding, material considerations, and safe operation
  • Ability to read part drawings and assess equipment suitability
  • Ability to gather and evaluate part drawings, material grade and thickness, production volume, current process, output requirements, tooling status, budget, and timing
  • Computer knowledge, including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Reliable follow-through and opportunity management
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted daily
  • Ability to bend, lift, stoop, reach, stand, crawl, and climb daily
