About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide spiritual guidance, emotional support, and comfort to adult hospice patients and their families in their San Antonio area homes
  • Serve as a long-term backup to the full-time Chaplain
  • Conduct occasional patient visits
  • Make patient calls and provide follow-up as needed
  • Attend occasional meetings in the San Antonio office
  • Provide compassionate spiritual care during challenging moments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a chaplain in an in-home hospice setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in theology preferred; church lay pastor experience considered
  • Must reside in the San Antonio area
  • Reliable transportation for home and facility visits
  • Availability for visits throughout the week, including weekends and possibly evenings
  • Occasional attendance of meetings in the San Antonio office
  • Current CPR certification
  • Proficiency with computers, including EHR systems such as Axxess and communication tools such as Slack
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
