About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Help shape the next chapter of Ambition Institute, a national education charity improving educational opportunity through professional development, research, and contributions to policy and practice
Report to the Chief Executive and serve as a full member of the Executive Committee
Share responsibility for the charity’s strategy, performance, culture and sustainability
Serve as senior technology leader with executive accountability for Technology, Finance and People
Shape how technology supports professional development for tens of thousands of educators
Strengthen work with delivery partners through learning platforms and strategic technology partnerships
Identify and implement practical, sustainable improvements using data, artificial intelligence and automation
Work through experienced Directors of Technology, Finance and People to provide resources, skills and organisational capacity
Contribute across the whole charity and advise the Chief Executive and Board on significant choices
Help build an inclusive organisation that delivers excellent work and uses its resources effectively

Requirements

What you’ll need

Substantial experience of setting technology strategy and delivering measurable improvements
Experience with platforms or services used by significant external user communities
Strong understanding of digital technology, data and AI
Commercial and financial acumen
Sound judgement about risk
Ability to bring people with different expertise together through change
Executive capability to oversee Technology, Finance and People functions through experienced specialists
Clear commitment to Ambition Institute’s mission
CV and supporting statement of no more than 1,800 words addressing the five headings in the candidate pack
