About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of an expanding retail portfolio in the Midwest, Mountain and Western regions
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and general maintenance
  • Conduct monthly on-site property inspections for all assigned properties
  • Ensure properties are well maintained and tenants comply with lease terms and applicable laws, regulations and ordinances
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants and respond to inquiries, requests and service needs
  • Issue tenant communications as needed
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contracting and supervising maintenance, janitorial, landscaping and other property services
  • Assist with timely Accounts Payable processing
  • Ensure accurate data entry into Yardi and AvidXchange accounting systems
  • Maintain organized tenant and property records in physical and digital formats
  • Work closely with Asset Management, Leasing, Accounting teams, tenants and third-party vendors
  • Report to the Managing Director – Property Operations and Construction
  • Travel monthly to assigned properties and occasionally work evenings or weekends for urgent property issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial retail property management/operations
  • Strong understanding of commercial retail property operations, lease administration and financial reporting
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel regularly for property inspections and vendor oversight
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with Real Estate Industry Software (Yardi) and Third Party A/P processing Software (Avid Exchange) is a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
