About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead North America BG Shared Services financial reporting and accounting functions supporting three business groups
- Manage accounting, budgeting, and forecasting for Significant Items and Restructuring programs
- Execute balance sheet reviews and track risks and opportunities
- Support annual strategic and operating plans, monthly forecasting, and actual reporting cycles
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, Amcor policies, US GAAP, and applicable statutory/regulatory requirements
- Lead a team of seven direct and indirect reports, providing coaching and development
- Drive best practices and process improvements across the RPS finance community
- Assist with technical accounting matters, M&A activities, business improvement projects, restructuring programs, and working capital initiatives
- Oversee financial reporting, capital accounting, fixed assets, tooling and dunnage amortization, and FP&A for shared services
- Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting for approximately 23 locations
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations
- Manage management reports and presentation materials for monthly and quarterly reporting, QBRs, supplemental reports, quality of earnings, and strategic risk assessments
- Partner with business unit management and stakeholders to meet information and reporting needs
- Lead monthly closing, consolidation, and reporting cycles
- Oversee SAP-BPC Financial Consolidation administration
- Coordinate consolidated tax reporting requirements with Amcor Group Tax
- Collaborate with Corporate on technical accounting conclusions
- Drive financial initiatives, fiscal management, treasury and cash flow management, benchmarking, and performance improvement
- Oversee internal controls, SOX processes, compliance activities, and external audit support
- Attract, retain, engage, motivate, and develop accounting and reporting professionals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional accreditation preferred (CPA, CA or similar)
- 10 years of accounting and reporting experience in an international environment
- Experience with SEC reporting and manufacturing strongly preferred
- Experience leading and managing a team of direct and indirect professionals
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP accounting and tax
- Ability to effectively communicate complex matters to non-technical audiences
- Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Effective oral, written and influencing communication skills
- Financial reporting and consolidation
- Financial planning and analysis in a multinational public company setting
- Shared service or transactional accounting management and collaboration
