About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist Machine Operators with daily production activities
- Learn machine operation and serve as a backup operator when needed
- Load raw materials and unload finished product from equipment
- Band and prepare return stock, empty cores, headers, startup rolls, and finished rolls
- Change and clean machine components as required
- Assist with machine setups, adjustments, and production changeovers
- Perform daily and weekly housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Support quality inspections and production documentation requirements
- Follow all safety, quality, and operating procedures
- Work collaboratively with operators, leads, and supervisors to achieve production goals
- Cross-train in multiple departments and manufacturing processes
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to work a 12-hour manufacturing schedule
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing systems
- Ability to perform basic math, measurement, and reading tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to perform visual inspections and distinguish colors
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety and following established procedures
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including climbing, crouching, and reaching
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment preferred
- Experience operating machinery or production equipment preferred
- Knowledge of quality inspections, measurements, and manufacturing processes preferred
- Desire to grow into a Machine Operator role preferred
