About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage Production and Maintenance areas at the Winterbourne site
- Support the Plant General Manager and Plant Leadership Team in effective plant management
- Drive excellence, safety culture, compliance with company and plant policies and procedures
- Align plant objectives with customer requirements
- Deliver production volumes, costs and Capex budgets
- Define and manage organizational processes and improvements, including roles, responsibilities, headcount, shifts and activities
- Ensure timely execution of the production plan by optimizing capacity to meet demand
- Define and verify KPIs to control process performance
- Optimize working capital through inventory reduction
- Deliver continuous improvement plans across site operations
- Promote Amcor values within the plant
- Develop team performance, knowledge and leadership
- Maintain collaboration, motivation and engagement
- Participate in plant safety programs and goals
- Support HSE System coordination and workplace safety and health measures
- Support development of safety procedures and worker safety training
- Support activities related to ISO 14001 and ISO 13485
- Enforce hygiene rules and appropriate protective gear requirements
- Maintain quality standards, data integrity and product integrity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven senior Operations Management experience, gained in a fast paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment
- Experience in packaging is an advantage but not a pre-requisite for the role
- Experience of successfully managing significant change / transformation projects within a manufacturing environment
- First-hand experience of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.
- Degree in a Science, Technology or Engineering subject preferred
- Proactive, positive leadership and people skills to ensure alignment with safety culture throughout organization
- Demonstrate employee engagement skills in an ongoing effort to create a positive & fulfilling work environment
- Assertive problem-solver able to identify gaps and define implementable solutions
- Genuine passion to transform manufacturing capability
- Open, outgoing and team-oriented interpersonal style with strong motivation and facilitation skills
- Results-oriented: able to take actions and implement effective solutions in a timely manner
