About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide overall support for all OHSE matters at the Saint-Seurin facility
- Deploy AFEMEA strategic initiatives
- Develop initiatives with plant management and the OHSE team
- Ensure fulfilment of legal requirements, AFEMEA policies, regulations, and corporate guidelines
- Drive the OHSE culture to achieve and sustain zero injuries
- Drive Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and performance with the SMT
- Exchange best practices with other Amcor plants
- Provide monthly accident, ignition, and other relevant KPI statistics
- Plan and supervise safety measures
- Audit the Saint-Seurin plant and other AFEMEA plants for OHSE compliance
- Maintain the OHSE Integrated Management System, including external yearly certifications
- Monitor and analyze OHSE incidents and define appropriate measures
- Train and supervise contractors and update contractor OHSE policies
- Perform and train co-workers in risk assessment processes
- Define and develop standard operating procedures
- Maintain relationships with employees, employee representatives, governments, insurers, the plant doctor, external partners, and communities
- Ensure compliance with local statutory regulations, AFEMEA requirements, and ISO standards
- Direct fire safety implementation, including ATEX and fire protection systems, and drive prevention programs targeting zero fire losses
- Report to the Plant General Manager and manage one direct report
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ideally degree-level qualification in Engineering, Science, or Operations, or equivalent experience through practical work in an industrial environment
- Experience in a production environment with diverse technologies is advantageous
- Key skills and experience in OHSE are essential
- 4–5 years of experience in an industrial environment
- Fluent French
- English language ability
- Ability to motivate co-workers in OHSE performance
- Interest in Quality Improvement and Continuous Improvement
- Team player
- Ability to bridge conflicting interests of concerned parties
