About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure the site complies with all statutory regulations, including lifting equipment, Legionella checks and insurance checks
- Ensure safe, reliable and efficient generation and distribution of site utilities including refrigeration, water, compressed air and electricity
- Maintain buildings and infrastructure to current food safety and OHSE standards
- Manage efficient operation of engineering stores
- Lead, support and manage internal and external teams
- Support Production and site-based Engineering functions
- Drive OHSE, Continuous Improvement, reliability and energy-efficiency initiatives
- Maintain site building EPC ratings to required standards
- Lead safety compliance, accident investigations, near-miss promotion and contractor OHSE adherence
- Drive quality and waste-reduction engineering improvements
- Provide onsite maintenance and engineering support for site assets
- Implement planned preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
- Maintain accurate CMMS records and coordinate daily and weekly maintenance workload
- Develop equipment downtime performance and assist with reviews and RCFA investigations
- Manage stores systems, training programs and contractor relations
- Manage the engineering FM budget and stakeholder relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- Managerial and leadership experience
- Site services knowledge/experience
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to motivate self and others
- Good organisational skills
- Regulatory and legislative knowledge and experience ensuring compliance
- Experience of Operational Engineering within a Manufacturing environment
- Computer literacy, with knowledge of SAP and Engineering CMMS
- HNC or equivalent
- IOSH General Certificate
- Engineering knowledge of site services
- Understanding of Planned Preventative Maintenance, Engineering Best Practices, Operational Excellence tools and techniques
- Time-served Engineer with developed experience in a production engineering environment (Preferred)
