About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure teams work safely and comply with occupational health and safety, environmental, quality, and food safety rules
- Support development and achievement of the business strategy as a member of the Senior Management Team
- Develop and manage preventive and reactive maintenance for machinery, assets, and facilities
- Coordinate electricians and mechanical operators, with up to 10 direct reports
- Lead operational activity across production, continuous improvement, pre-press, and engineering
- Drive operational targets, operational excellence programs, measurable continuous improvement, and cost reduction
- Establish and maintain safety policies and programs with the EHS Manager
- Interface between maintenance, manufacturing, contractors, and engineering
- Monitor staff performance, development, goals, KPI improvement targets, and performance management
- Educate contractors on company policies and procedures
- Monitor spare parts inventory and recommend obsolete parts for removal
- Schedule preventive maintenance and manage facility maintenance
- Ensure security, fire, and emergency systems are operational and tested
- Track facility utilities and implement energy-saving initiatives
- Schedule internal maintenance work orders and coordinate external vendors
- Prepare plant capital budgets and initiate capital projects
- Develop equipment specifications and support equipment selection, purchase, and installation
- Manage capital projects from concept through plant implementation, including cost tracking and schedules
- Lead the PM Pillar and launch equipment-reliability improvement teams
- Develop team members through performance reviews, improvement targets, training, discipline, and succession planning
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering/Technical field and 5 years’ experience in a managerial position, or high school diploma and minimum 7 years’ experience in a managerial position
- Strong working knowledge of equipment engineering and automated manufacturing processes
- Experience in Automation Engineering, Electronics, or Controls Engineering
- CMMS implementation experience
- Effective technical skills in mechanical engineering, basic electrical engineering, automation technology, process engineering, industrial engineering, and utilities engineering
- Knowledge of modern production processes, preferably printing and lamination equipment
- Experience managing teams and/or team members
- Strong knowledge of safety features and safety regulations
- Fluent spoken and written English and Czech
- Medium knowledge of Excel
- Change management and problem solving skills
- Skilled communicator, facilitator, and trainer
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Customer orientation
- Hands-on, pragmatic, analytical, and structured approach
- Familiarity with 24/7 operations and on-call shifts
