About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and activities to deliver complex engineering solutions on time, within cost and to quality requirements
- Marshal projects through an investment delivery process from FEED to solution delivery
- Act as Architect Engineer, owning technical challenges, developing strategies, and managing stakeholders and interfaces
- Develop and deliver clear engineering strategies
- Manage a significant number of varied stakeholders
- Deliver projects across bidding, requirements definition, design, implementation, and commissioned-system delivery
- Liaise with Case Officers to align safety case strategy with design development
- Support development of safety case documentation
- Identify and manage technical risks
- Support the Project Manager with resourcing, costs, schedules, change control, and technical risk management
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple UK locations
- Gather client-needs intelligence and work with colleagues to deliver innovative solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Self-starter with a professional leadership approach and a technical background
- Nuclear industry and/or equivalent safety case experience
- Demonstrable experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams
- Proven engineering delivery experience within a nuclear or highly regulated environment
- Ability to work to deadlines and communicate project progress
- Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders
- Ability to produce project strategies to solve technical problems and own interfaces to implement solutions
- Experience executing project tasks against relevant codes, standards, and best practices
- Knowledge of Project Management principles
- Experience handling change control and making informed judgements to control or mitigate project risks
- Commitment to Continuous Professional Development of self and others
- Degree qualified or equivalent, e.g. HNC/HND with significant experience, in an engineering discipline with extensive design experience
- Chartered Engineer, Fellow or similar demonstrable experience
- Mechanical, Process, EC&I, Structural Integrity or Civils technical background
- Previous experience working on the UK’s operational or decommissioning nuclear power plants is highly desirable
