About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support key project deliverables across Amentum’s nuclear project portfolio
  • Work alongside Subject Matter Experts, Operations Managers and the Framework Service team
  • Develop and manage framework projects incorporating risk, change, resource requirements and cost in accordance with Amentum requirements and standards
  • Lead cost management activities for major frameworks for key clients across the Energy Division
  • Report to the Project Controls Manager
  • Build effective relationships and interact with internal and external stakeholders across multiple locations
  • Support activities that deliver the best service to clients
  • Gather intelligence on client needs and work with the team to deliver innovative solutions
  • Produce monthly reports and provide intelligent information and analysis
  • Capture project budgets, costs and resources and determine expenditure phasing
  • Establish and maintain Work Breakdown Structures, Project Control Structures and project baselines
  • Travel occasionally to UK sites/stations as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of HNC/HND ideally in an Engineering discipline or relevant experience
  • Good working knowledge of financial systems
  • Breadth of experience across the whole project and programme lifecycle, including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning
  • Understanding of the inter-relationship between time, cost and commercial aspects of the project life cycle
  • Ability to reconcile cost information as it applies to programmes of work
  • Proficiency in estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels of management
  • Ability to produce monthly reports to an agreed reporting cycle and provide intelligent information and analysis
  • Ability to capture project budgetary costs and resources in plans to determine time phasing of expenditure and total project budget
  • Ability to establish robust Work Breakdown and Project Control Structures in accordance with processes, templates and procedures
  • Experience challenging as necessary to ensure compatibility and compliance
  • Knowledge of maintaining and controlling project baselines in line with company procedures and guidance
  • Proven track record of working within highly regulated environments with high safety standards and culture
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to develop relationships, maintain effective networks and remain results-focused with a team-centred approach
