About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support projects ranging from small studies to multi-million-dollar turnkey solutions
  • Develop hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for SCADA systems
  • Develop control system software designs
  • Develop control system software, including PLC programming and HMI development
  • Develop interfaces to facility equipment using industrial control protocols such as MODBUS TCP, PROFINET, and EtherNet/IP
  • Apply closed loop controls methods to control continuously variable systems
  • Support hardware assembly and fabrication through panel shop testing
  • Perform light installation tasks on-site for commissioning efforts
  • Perform on-site facility startup, checkout, and commissioning activities domestically and abroad under supervision
  • Communicate with clients and management regarding project status
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and departments
  • Complete project milestones within technical scope, budget, and client schedule

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • US citizenship is required to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations
  • A Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field from an ABET-accredited program
  • 0-5 years of experience in control or data acquisition system design, implementation, and commissioning
  • Ability to work as a team member on single and multi-discipline engineering teams
  • Willingness to learn from senior engineers and mentors
  • Desire to develop ingenious alternative approaches to challenges and drive innovation
  • Some experience as a PLC and HMI software developer in a major environment such as Rockwell Software Studio 5000, SIEMENS TIA Portal, or Emerson PC ME
  • Working knowledge of other PLC/HMI environments
  • Experience selecting, specifying, and procuring process instrumentation and actuation hardware, control and data acquisition system hardware, PLCs, drive and motion systems, automation network hardware, interconnect cabling, and supporting equipment
  • EIT – FE Exam passed, or pursuing EIT
