About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Survey and assess existing facilities and conditions
- Scope and estimate engineering effort
- Perform field work
- Write reports
- Develop conceptual designs
- Produce design development drawings, specifications, and calculation analyses
- Assist with cost estimating
- Disposition NCRs
- Assess existing designs

- Coordinate with Quality on inspections
- Support development of scopes of work for electrical subcontracts
- Provide services during bidding and construction, including bid review, shop drawing review, construction site visits, and commissioning support

Requirements
What you’ll need- BS-Electrical Engineering from an ABET-certified institution
- FE License
- Three (3) or more years of electrical engineering design experience
- Construction support experience for Title 3 activities
- Sole US citizenship required
- Short Circuit Analysis experience
- Some knowledge of the NEC
- Experience working in groups of engineers and designers on projects
- Experience leading technical discussions with clients
- Knowledge of electrical systems, including power system design, load centers, fire alarm design, lighting design, load flow studies, communications design, grounding design, and equipment selection
- Arc Flash Analysis experience
- Familiarity with Instrumentation & Controls interface
- Ability to produce sizing calculations and other analyses/reports
- Preferred: PE License
- Preferred: DOE experience
- Preferred: NQA-1 experience
- Ability to author proposals and Statements of work is a plus
- Experience providing construction support or services during construction is desired
- Remote employees must maintain a company-approved secure workspace within the United States and travel to the Oak Ridge office quarterly
