About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyse clients’ business strategies and objectives, identifying critical success factors and areas where IT can contribute
- Evaluate clients’ existing IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network components
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture models representing business processes, data flows, and technology components
- Formulate long-term IT strategies, future investments, initiatives, and technology adoption plans
- Guide and oversee IT projects throughout their lifecycle
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends and recommend adoption strategies
- Communicate with executives, business units, and IT teams to ensure alignment and buy-in
- Identify and assess IT-related risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards
- Continuously evaluate and enhance IT architectures as business needs evolve
- Work on projects across Critical National Infrastructure, National Security, Defence, and Nuclear sectors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems) or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to architect solutions to complex challenges
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to influence at all levels
- Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate within high-performing teams
- Experience working within the UK MOD or Critical National Infrastructure
- At least 5 years’ experience working on Defence or CNI IT systems
- Desirable qualifications/certifications: TOGAF 9, Unified Architecture Framework, Open Group Certified Architect (Open CA), ArchiMate Certified Expert, IT4IT Foundation, Certified Solution Architect: AWS or Azure
