About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Missile Defense Agency on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract
  • Administer, maintain, and support SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted and StruxureWare Data Center Expert applications and platforms
  • Configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain DISA STIG compliance
  • Maintain overall health of application environments
  • Optimize and document infrastructure
  • Design custom dashboards and special event maps
  • Assist systems and network administrators with threshold and alert management
  • Deliver actionable performance data to infrastructure and engineering teams
  • Provide rotating on-call support and respond to SolarWinds application degradation/outages within 1 hour

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2 or more years of general full-time work experience; may be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • 1 or more years of directly related IT administration experience
  • Proficiency and experience with Windows Server 2022 or higher, including Microsoft Security patch installation, server log troubleshooting, and evaluation
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Knowledge of SNMPv3, Syslog, ICMP, HTTPS, TCP/IP, SMTP, DNS, SSH, TFTP, and WMI
  • Basic knowledge of SQL Server 2022 or higher and SQL queries, preferably SolarWinds Query Language (SWQL)
  • Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, or Bash
  • Understanding of IP subnetting, TCP/IP, routing/switching, VLANs, and basic packet analysis
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as Remedy/Helix
  • Experience or basic skills with Linux operating systems
  • Willingness and ability to provide rotating on-call support and respond to SolarWinds application degradation/outages within 1 hour
  • Ability to support 24/7 MDA operations
  • Current DoW 8570 IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+
  • Active DoW Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interface professionally with military and government customers
  • Resumé submitted in month and year format with the application
  • Desired: hands-on experience with SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted modules
  • Desired: one or more Container & Kubernetes certifications
  • Desired: deep understanding of AWS GovCloud and Microsoft Azure Government within DoD IL5/IL6 boundaries
