About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Missile Defense Agency on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract
  • Perform proactive and reactive cybersecurity duties on customer networks to improve enterprise-wide security posture
  • Analyze and process Cyber Task Orders to track, report, and brief on IAVM compliance, device confiscations, research and investigation, website blocks, and compliance-related projects
  • Perform and analyze vulnerability scans using ACAS/Nessus without affecting network operations
  • Perform network security threat and impact assessments and prepare assessment reports
  • Use Defensive Cyber Operations tools to analyze and correlate events, vulnerabilities, and STIGs across network security devices and mission-critical infrastructure
  • Analyze and interpret log data within tools such as ACAS and HBSS/ESS
  • Analyze vulnerabilities against known exploits and disseminate guidance to improve network defensive posture
  • Support development, establishment, review, and updating of Tier III LCC procedures, processes, manuals, and documentation
  • Assist with enterprise host-based security using HBSS, including antimalware, host-based intrusion protection, data loss prevention, and rogue system detection
  • Support enterprise incident response in accordance with DoD regulations and instructions
  • Generate vulnerability assessment reports and escalate them for further review
  • Create, update, and manage queries and dashboards for HBSS, ACAS, and related security tools
  • Support review and updating of CND procedures, processes, manuals, and documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2 or more years of general (full-time) work experience; may be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • 6 or more months of directly related cyber or systems engineering experience
  • 1 year of managerial experience
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, etc.)
  • Must have, or obtain, an active DoW Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience with most MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects and assignments in a dynamic work environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to support periodic on-call requirements
  • Experience operating Tenable ACAS solutions
  • Experience operating McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator
  • Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field (desired)
  • Experience with security analysis and solutions in WAN/LAN environments, including routers, switches, network devices, and Windows/Linux operating systems (desired)
  • Experience with SOC/DCO tools and applications such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, Network Security Manager, Bluecoat, and Barracuda (desired)
  • Experience performing security compliance scans across a WAN; ACAS/Nessus preferred (desired)
  • Background in configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment of host-based security/HBSS (desired)
  • Relevant computing environment certifications such as HBSS/ESS, ACAS, Windows, or Linux (desired)
  • Familiarity with Security Operations Centers/SOC and DoD (desired)
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance (desired)
