About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide legal counsel to senior leaders supporting federal and commercial energy projects across nuclear and non-nuclear sectors
  • Draft, negotiate, and review EPC contracts, services agreements, NDAs, MOUs, IP licenses, teaming and joint venture agreements, subcontracts, and project finance agreements
  • Advise on compliance with FAR/DFARS, DOE, NRC, FCPA, ITAR, EAR, and other international or environmental laws
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage legal and contractual risks in bids, project execution, and contract closeouts
  • Support early identification and resolution of disputes and claims; represent the company in negotiations and mediation and oversee litigation with external counsel
  • Lead the full contract lifecycle for nuclear and non-nuclear commercial and federal projects
  • Collaborate with proposal teams and pricing specialists on pre-award contractual risks and opportunities
  • Review and respond to government solicitations, RFPs, RFQs, and other bids
  • Monitor contractual compliance, deliverables, milestones, change orders, and claims
  • Negotiate subcontractor and vendor agreements and ensure flow-down compliance
  • Develop and improve contract-management SOPs, templates, and tools
  • Train project management, finance, and operational teams on contractual and legal best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically 10+ years of combined legal and contracts management experience
  • At least 3–5 years in a government contractor or energy-related environment
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. State Bar
  • Extensive expertise in drafting and negotiating EPC contracts, government contracts (FAR/DFARS, NRC/DOE-driven projects), and commercial energy sector agreements
  • Demonstrated experience supporting nuclear project development, performance, licensing, and/or compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities while supporting deal-making and ongoing contract performance
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to distill complex legal and contractual issues into concise, actionable advice
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, timely work product
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Familiarity with renewable energy, nuclear power, and environmental remediation
  • Experience supporting joint ventures, consortiums, or other multi-party collaborations
  • Additional contracts management certifications such as CFCM or CPCM strongly preferred
