About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect, automate, secure, and sustain the cloud-native delivery ecosystem supporting the Missile Defense Agency’s unified digital environment
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud and container platforms using Azure Kubernetes Service, AWS Elastic Container Service, and Red Hat OpenShift
- Engineer and sustain CI/CD pipelines with automated build, testing, security scanning, release, and deployment workflows
- Develop infrastructure provisioning and configuration management solutions using Terraform, Helm, Ansible, and Bash
- Implement container hardening, image assurance, secrets management, runtime security, monitoring, and compliance validation
- Assess architectures and develop hybrid-cloud migration and integration strategies
- Support resilient platform services across IaaS and PaaS ecosystems, including orchestration, networking, observability, policy enforcement, and secure access
- Collaborate with software, systems, network, cybersecurity, database, infrastructure, and Government stakeholder teams
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex platform, integration, and deployment issues
- Support secure deployment and sustainment of PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and MySQL data services
- Create technical documentation, implementation plans, pipeline designs, architecture diagrams, deployment procedures, SOPs, and configuration baselines
- Evaluate emerging DevSecOps, platform engineering, and cloud technologies
- Provide technical status, risks, recommendations, and platform capability assessments to program leadership and Government stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- 12 or more years of general full-time work experience; may be reduced with completion of advanced education
- 6 or more years of directly related progressive experience in DevSecOps, platform engineering, systems integration, cloud engineering, or related infrastructure engineering roles
- 1 or more years of experience working in a management or leadership role
- Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and sustaining Kubernetes-based or other containerized platforms in enterprise environments
- Demonstrated experience with AWS, Azure, or Red Hat OpenShift
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automation workflows, and secure software delivery processes
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration automation tools such as Terraform, Helm, Ansible, and Bash
- Strong understanding of Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment, orchestration, scaling, and lifecycle management
- Familiarity with RMF, DISA STIGs, Zero Trust, and secure hardening practices
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems across organizations, systems, and engineering disciplines
- Baseline DoD 8140/IAT certification, such as Security+ CE
- Active DoW Secret Security Clearance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Resume submitted in month and year format
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field is desired
