About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide input to project planning and design
- Manage, develop, and evaluate contractor crews engaged in construction, maintenance, and inspection of electric system facilities
- Set expectations for safety and quality through observations and audits
- Schedule, assign, direct, and manage work according to applicable contracts and agreements
- Maintain regular contact with contractor supervisory personnel to assess manpower, equipment, tools, and material needs
- Monitor and control project budgets and schedules
- Provide budgetary cost tracking documentation and construction timeline schedules
- Document project scope changes and provide project updates
- Coordinate activities with customers, contractors, stakeholders, and other company departments
- Enforce WPA, LOTO, safety rules, and corporate policies with contractor crews
- Conduct Safety Observations with individuals and crews
- Contribute to department and function goals
- Identify and implement improvements to control costs and improve productivity and quality
- Investigate and resolve stakeholder complaints
- Ensure vendor field supervision enforces applicable Ameren policies, practices, and safety rules
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Five or more years of relevant experience in electric transmission or electric distribution required, OR five or more years of relevant experience in a heavy industrial or military environment including a minimum of three years in a supervisor role required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Journeyman line or journeyman substation experience preferred
- Utility experience preferred
- Supervisory or team/contractor leadership experience preferred
- Work may include office and field environments
- Overnight travel may be required for multiple days per week, depending on construction project locations
- Subject to call-out and overtime as required for emergency storm restoration and project work
