About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide onsite field management and coordination for electric Transmission projects
- Manage 20 to 100+ contractor personnel for construction contracts of up to $20 million
- Provide mentorship to the Construction Engineer
- Initiate and evaluate jobsite safety and quality control procedures
- Perform and document safety and quality audits
- Monitor construction activities, including manpower, equipment, tools and material needs
- Interpret and convey specifications, drawings and instructions to contractors
- Ensure contractor compliance with specifications, drawings and instructions
- Facilitate construction progress meetings covering safety, quality, schedule, scope and budget
- Document and provide progress reports
- Resolve safety issues, cost overruns, schedule delays and change requests
- Review specifications and drawings for constructability
- Assist with critical path project schedule development
- Assess material, construction access, restoration, construction techniques and jobsite security before mobilization
- Administer job working rules, workman’s protection assurance, OSHA and environmental regulations, and Ameren operating procedures
- Provide public relations and liaison support between parties involved in construction on Ameren property
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university required
- Professional Engineer License preferred
- Seven or more years of project construction or project leadership related experience required
- Supervisory or team/contractor leadership experience preferred
- Proficiency with project construction schedules required
- Strong leadership, management, analytical, communication and human relations skills preferred
- Must be adaptable and flexible
- May be required to work out of town projects for periods of one or more years and shift work
- Subject to call-out/overtime for storm and other project work
- Must take the First Line Supervisor Test and obtain a recommended status to be eligible for additional selection procedures
