About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct gas field personnel responding to gas emergency and non-emergency situations, prioritizing protection of the public and property
- Manage gas-related work scope for assigned AIC gas areas
- Assess gas field personnel availability in an Operating Center based on orders sent to the outage analysis system
- Direct gas field personnel to respond timely to emergency and non-emergency gas-related orders
- Communicate with Gas Supervision in Operating Centers to address changing resource needs
- Perform after-hours callouts for resources due to gas emergencies or non-emergency needs
- Secure emergency JULIEs for gas field personnel performing excavation activities after normal office hours
- Work rotating shifts, including overtime for system emergencies, shift vacancies, or workload needs
- Attend occasional travel/field visits
- Complete required training in Decatur, expected to last approximately 3 to 6 months
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Five or more years of relevant experience (e.g., gas or electric distribution systems, operations or construction, dispatching, etc.) required
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone and written communication with internal and external customers
- Proven ability to handle stress without affecting work performance or communications
- Effective organization, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills
- PC/Computer skills preferred
- Previous OAS experience beneficial
- Ability to direct and supervise diversified, concurrent field activities affecting customers, personnel, and financial resources
- Ability to follow all processes and procedures for the GDSOS position
- Ability to work rotating shift schedules
- Overtime required for system emergencies, shift vacancies, or workload needs
- Occasional travel/field visits required
